As with anybody, there are some health complications that may reveal themselves with age. This section is a brief introduction to some of the more common complications that can occur if you have restricted growth.
Pregnancy - most restricted growth conditions do not prevent a woman from carrying a successful pregnancy. If one or both partners have a restricted growth condition, genetic counselling is usually advised. Your obstetrician should be able to arrange this for you. If you are considering a pregnancy or are pregnant, the office can put you in touch with someone who has already been there. Please also see our page for RG Parents
Spinal Injuries - there is a discussion/support group for people spinally injured with RG. Links to the group will be given in the Members' area or can be obtained from e-mailing the office.
Weight gain - most people put on a few pounds as they go past 30, it's even easier to do if you have RG. If you've found a healthy way to stay trim or found a diet group where you're happy - e-mail website@restrictedgrowth.co.uk and share your experiences with other members!
